National Hydrocarbons Commission´s
National Mineral Collection in Yucatan

Yucatán will host the National Mineral Collection of the National Hydrocarbons Commission (known by its initials in Spanish, CNH), which is estimated to begin operations in August, 2018. The mentioned National Mineral Collection will serve as a center dedicated to the analysis, administration and preservation of the collections of geological samples and nuclei to promote their systematic study focused to the exploration of energy resources.
Likewise, a second National Mineral Collection is planned to be stated in Hidalgo, and both institutions will depend on the National Hydrocarbon Information Center.
The objective of this project is to denote scientific research linked to productive projects that generate economic growth and higher quality jobs in the region.
The establishment of the headquarters of the National Mineral Collection in Yucatan will contribute to generate value for the oil industry, since this headquarters will have relevant information for researchers and investors, generating products and services with added value for the hydrocarbons sector.
In this framework, the foundations for the establishment of a consortium formed by the PCTY, the ITPE, the Research and Advanced Studies Center of the National Polytechnic Institute (for its initials in Spanish, IPN) and the company Plenumsoft Energy & Sustainability were presented. The four parties will be able to take advantage of the facilities of the Mineral Collection to offer services of analysis of samples and other studies to diverse private or public instances that so require.
